Sculpting Completed

After days of trying I finally have to end the sculpting phase. I will add more details and appeal through texture and lighting (which I'm not so sure if I can do it, but I will not try, I will succeed - Thanks Yoda!). Anyway here some pict of those sculpt.

Head Detailing

I took some time to really understand pores, wrinkles and facial details. I read books such as Scott Spencer's Zbrush Advanced Character Creation, then google some image reference, I also read some online article. I really spent some time to create good finishing details rather than just over crowded my sculpting with unnecessary details.
Anyway here test render I did in Zbrush.

Start Simple - Cloth Sculpting

"Humble Start"
I've been keep repeating these words in my head since I start sculpting the cloth.
Thanks to Scott Eaton explanation on Zbrush website, combined with determination to create good looking fabric I able to at least have a good start.

Sculpting The Upper Body pt.1

Sculpting the head and the upper body in Zbrush. Very fun but I can't make anymore mistakes, I should stay low with the intensity of the brushes and also slowly build the form. Before I was all about going crazy with every stroke.

Finalizing The Model in Maya

I got all geometry modeled out in Maya. What a wonderful feeling! Finally the fun time will soon begin, tomorrow actually. Well anyway here some picture of the final model in Maya. Lots of stuff like the fingers and proportion need to be fix in Zbrush. Anyway the white stuff is the cloth/garment that will be sculpted in Zbrush.

Modeling Props

It wasn't my original design, I was planning to model a simple "chest piece plate". But I spent too much time on it and I got a better one. Happy accident which I have not meet for some time. The other image is just a simple gladius.

Male Anatomy Sketch

Couple hours doodling in Photoshop. Always been curious about human's back anatomy, couldn't find a good reference picture. So I open my old anatomy book and begin my anatomical journey from there.

Modeling The Helmet pt.4

I wasn't so sure if I'm gonna be able to make a hard surface prop. I usually stop halfway and the final piece is a mesh. But this time I put patience as well as passion. I slowly sculpt the shape and after couple of hours tweaking vertices, I got what I wanted - a helmet. Man I'm so hopeful now, this is a good start I said to myself.

Correcting Anatomy & Proportion pt.3

I ended up have to corrected the proportion of the body. Now I'm trying to get the basic structure of the facial features of my character's head. I'll keep modeling in Maya until my mesh ready for the Detailing step.

Modeling Male Body Polygon pt.2

A little update on the project I currently work on. Finally finish the base body mesh. Still not sure what kind of character I'm trying to portray, but soon I gotta figure it out anyway. This mesh about 3000 tris/1500 faces.

Modeling Generic Head pt.1

Currently I'm practicing my modeling skills, kind of rusty after away from three-d for some time. Anyway just a generic head model, about 3000 triangles (5500 including the inner mouth).
